I've spent my career in healthcare IT, which is about as demanding as tech gets. I started on the help desk at Lancaster General Hospital, spending 3 years troubleshooting applications, file access, and hardware issues for clinical staff — all over the phone. That role built the skill I use most: solving problems quickly and explaining them clearly to people who aren't technical.

From there I moved into a Level 2 technician role at UPMC York, where I handled hardware procurement across multiple hospital locations, led full office relocation projects — coordinating everything from PCs and printers to specialty medical peripherals — and managed fleet-wide PC replacement programs. Two years of that taught me how to run a project from quote to completion without things falling through the cracks.

Today I work in enterprise biomedical IT for the UPMC health system, supporting the network connectivity of medical devices across locations nationwide. That means coordinating with vendors, managing device deployment projects, and keeping complex systems talking to each other reliably.

I started McCoy Home Tech because I kept running into people — neighbors, family, local business owners — dealing with tech problems I could fix in an afternoon, or websites that weren't doing their business justice and came with agency price tags they couldn't justify. There's a real gap there, and I enjoy filling it.

I hold an Associate's degree in Business with a Computer Systems focus, and I bring the same attention to detail I use every day in enterprise IT to every job I take on — whether it's a home network or a business website.
