This agreement describes McCoy Home Tech's ("MHT") in-home and small-business technology services, pricing, and terms. Every job begins with a free assessment; work proceeds only after you approve a written, flat-rate quote. Expand any service line below to see detailed pricing and what's included. Looking for a website instead? See the web design agreement →

How pricing works: Service prices are flat and confirmed in your written quote after a free assessment. You own all hardware — MHT recommends the right gear for your needs and can purchase it on your behalf, billed at cost plus a 10% markup (which covers sourcing, shipping, and handling any warranty or replacement claims for you), or you supply it. A deposit may be required for jobs involving hardware purchases or larger installs.

General Terms & Conditions

  1. Scope & quotes. Assessments are free. Each job is defined by a written quote describing the work and a flat price. Work begins once you approve the quote (and pay any required deposit). Requests beyond the agreed scope are quoted as add-ons.
  2. Service area & remote work. On-site service is available in Red Lion, PA and surrounding areas, including Shrewsbury, Glen Rock, and Stewartstown; a trip charge may apply outside it. Many software, network, and printer issues can be handled by remote support, billed per the rates above.
  3. Deposits & payment. Standard service is due on completion. For jobs involving hardware purchases or larger installs, a deposit (typically the hardware cost plus 50% of labor) is required before MHT orders parts or begins. Accepted methods: [card / Stripe, e-transfer, PayPal, cash]. Balances unpaid after [7] days may incur a late fee.
  4. Hardware & parts ownership. You own all hardware. MHT recommends suitable equipment and can purchase it on your behalf at cost plus a 10% markup, or you may supply your own. For hardware MHT purchases, MHT handles warranty and replacement claims with the supplier on your behalf; warranties on client-supplied hardware remain the client's to register and claim.
  5. Client-supplied & third-party hardware. MHT will install and configure equipment you provide, but is not responsible for defects, incompatibility, or failures of client-supplied or third-party hardware, software, or services.
  6. Site access & conditions. You agree to provide safe access to the work area, power, and your internet/network. Quotes assume standard residential/small-business construction; concealed conditions (asbestos, inaccessible walls, non-standard wiring) may require a revised quote. Drywall/cosmetic repair and painting are not included unless quoted.
  7. Security cameras & audio. Camera systems are installed with audio recording disabled by default. Enabling audio is the client's decision and responsibility (see the camera audio acknowledgment). The client is responsible for lawful placement and use of cameras, including any required notice or consent.
  8. Data & backups. You are responsible for maintaining backups of your data. MHT offers an optional pre-work backup add-on but is not liable for data loss arising from hardware failure, existing corruption, or work you authorize knowing the risks.
  9. Workmanship guarantee. MHT warrants its installation and configuration labor for [30] days. This covers MHT's workmanship only — not hardware failures, software changes, power events, ISP issues, or new/unrelated problems.
  10. Cancellation. Please give [24] hours' notice to reschedule. Cancellations after parts are ordered are responsible for the hardware cost and any restocking fees; work completed beyond a deposit is billed at the hourly rate.
  11. Limitation of liability. MHT's total liability for any claim is limited to the fees paid for the service. MHT is not liable for indirect or consequential damages, lost data or revenue, or third-party outages (internet, power, cloud, or hardware vendors).
  12. Portfolio rights. Unless you request otherwise in writing, MHT may reference the type of work performed (without identifying details or interior footage) in its portfolio.
  13. Governing law. This agreement is governed by the laws of the State of [Pennsylvania].
